How to add your birthday

Reminders, polls and everyday tools ยท Updated

New to OcelotBOT? It's a free Discord bot, add it to your server first to follow along.

To add your birthday to Discord you need to use a Discord bot. OcelotBOT keeps a list of the birthdays in your server and can post a message in a channel of your choice whenever it's somebody's birthday.

First, you or the server admin needs to add OcelotBOT to your server. Then you can add your own birthday, and everyone else's, with the /birthdays add slash command.

Add your birthday

Type /birthdays add and put your birthday in the date option. You can write it however you'd say it out loud, and you don't need to include the year.

Discord requires everybody to be at least 13, so OcelotBOT won't save a date that would make someone younger than that.

Add someone else's birthday

Fill in the optional adduser option to add a birthday for another member of the server:

For someone who isn't on Discord, like a family member, use /birthdays add-nonuser with a name and a date.

See everyone's birthdays

Get birthday messages in a channel

Birthday announcements are posted in a channel you pick. Anyone with the Manage Channels permission can set it:

Leave name empty to use the channel you are typing in. To stop the announcements, run /birthdays setchannel clear:clear. OcelotBOT checks for birthdays once a day in the morning.

Remove or change a birthday

Run /birthdays remove to delete your own birthday. If you have the Manage Channels permission you can remove someone else's with the usertoremove option. To change a date, remove the old one first and then add the new one.

Birthday command not working?
