How to steal emojis
Reminders, polls and everyday tools · Updated
Seen a great emoji in another server? You can add it to yours without downloading, resizing and uploading it yourself. The /esteal command turns an emoji, an image link or a recent picture into a custom emoji in your server.
Before you start
- You need the Manage Expressions permission (called Manage Emoji and Stickers on older versions of Discord) in your server.
- OcelotBOT needs that permission too. Check its role in Server Settings, then Roles.
- Your server needs a free emoji slot. Every server has a limit that depends on its boost level.
Steal an emoji
Put the emoji in the image option, and choose a name if you want to call it something different:
- /estealimage<:pepe:123456789012345678>namesadpepe
You can only put another server's emoji straight into a command if you can use it, for example with Discord Nitro. If you can't:
- Right-click (or long-press) the emoji or image and choose Copy Link or Copy Image Address.
- Paste the link into the
imageoption.
You can also leave image empty. OcelotBOT then uses the most recent image in the channel, so post or reply to a picture first and then run the command.
Names
Discord emoji names should be made of letters and underscores, between 2 and 32 characters long. If you don't pick a name, OcelotBOT uses the emoji's own name, or works one out from the image.
If it doesn't work
OcelotBOT tells you what went wrong. The usual reasons are:
- There are no emoji slots left in the server.
- The image is too big. Discord only accepts emoji up to 256 KB, so a smaller or less detailed image may work.
- OcelotBOT or you are missing the permission above.
Find emojis from other servers
Not sure what you want to steal? /emoji searches emojis from other servers OcelotBOT is in. Try /emoji term:pog to see what comes up. Servers can opt out of this in the privacy settings.
